About Us
Blackwood "Jazz on a Stick" is a traditional American jazz group from Upstate, South Carolina. Our music includes standards from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s from The Great American Songbook, along with southern Louisiana classic Mardi Gras music. Infused with vibrant jazz clarinet, reminiscent of the great swing days of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and others, the combination of these styles produces a unique blend that has audiences dancing, singing, tapping their feet and clapping their hands.

Our Musicians
Members of the band are local professional musicians. Our instrumentation includes clarinet, guitar, keyboard, upright bass and drums, along with vocals on many selections. Depending on the event and venue, we can provide any combination from a 3 piece to the full 5-piece band
